RIR announces NEW mesh cars - Super Car racing series coming soon!

Yesterday I couldn't go to bed too early - but it turned out not to be a bad thing, because I got an opportunity to join racers at Dover Speedway for the test race on the new, mesh cars! Looks great, even with demo textures :)
Like it was mentioned before, badguy Boozehound spend a lot of time getting the script to work with the mesh - but, in my opinion, the result paid off!
I even checked the car out myself, even though I'm a veeeery average racer. RIR racing cars always take some time to accustom to, but I suspect this one might become a new start for some racers. This car was confirmed as more sticky than others (and heavier too, I would add), so even the best racers had to bust a cut to handle them!
The event, of course, included the fun race. There were both RIR patrons - Eagle Clawtooth, Killan Sandalwood, then JP Paneer joined them - and newcomers, also Miku Hatsune, Racers Island champion, dropped by for the 2nd race. Sadly, I can't put their names because I simply forgot to write them down and my memory plays tricks with me, so I can't remember them right now - but if they remind me of themselves, you'll hear about them, too!
Racers cluster
What I want to say is that newcomers totally surprised me - they've showed a great driving skill and an ability to compete with those who's name are well-known for you. Probably the mesh car confused pro racers a little, because they were doing better at the 2nd race (a bigger one, when Hatsune and Paneer joined).
Before the second race, a funny thing occured - due to the fact cars were temporary, they... simply disappeared right before the race, when racers have lined up. Yes, at the certain moment of time racers found themselves staying on the ground, without a slightest hint of car around. After laughing that out, they grabbed another demo each and it all got back to normal.
So I can conclude the Super Car season, when its time comes, promises to be not very predictable!
Testing seems to be still in progress - but I asked Badguy and he said that it's going to be done in 2-3 weeks  and RIR will start the season with them! So, competitors, you've got time to try them out - drop by at RIR store, grab a demo and give it a try!
Let's wait together for the season! Stay tuned for further notices!

R.I.R. Camping World Truck Race @ Daytona Speedway

R.I.R. website
Daytona Speedway in-world

(race of 7/14/12)

Believe me or not, yesterday was the first time I got able to make it! Always thought that if it's out of the series - it's supposed to be boring: veterans keep the lead till the finish, new racers lose the hope and give up early, Grosmanteau DeCuir finishes first, Eagle Clawtooth - second...

How wrong I was! And how much I like it!
They've got pitstops. They've got custom paintings. They've got different settings.
They've got the competition.

I said that before and I say this again: Sharon Densmith's racing skill improvement shows so clear, you don't have to run through the race log too much for the evidence. Guess it's not a surprise that DeCuir got the best time at the practice - 13.179, but looks at Densmith's time - 13.182. It's not close, it's totally the same! Because the 0.003 difference I don't count as a difference.
DeCuir decided to start half a lap down without qualifying. And pole position was successfully taken by Densmith with 13.001 seconds!
The pack at the start messed her up a little, and MidnightRambler Frostbite got ahead of her, but only to get pressed by her from behind. It didn't take long to her to get back to the 1st place. Behind her, Eagle Clawtooth dropped down and was going 5th, while ZZ, who is well-known as a postion improver, took the 3rd, and eventually the 2nd one. In conclusion, Clawtooth pulled to the pits at the 4th lap (it wasn't about pitting though) and dropped to the 7th position. DeCuir made it to the 4th position.
At the lap 9, ZZ gain the lead, but only for a couple of laps, then Densmith got back there. Meanwhile, DeCuir took over the 2nd place, but there was lapped Clifford Market between him and Densmith.
Frostbite became first who had the pitstop and dropped onto the 4th place, behind ZZ. Then there were Market (fastest pitstop), Densmith and others. ZZ, as always, made the pitstop last. And Densmith, DeCuir and Market got 1 speed ticket each.
Sharon got back 3rd at the track, but behind ZZ and DeCuir, who pitted later than her, so she obtained the leading again. DeCuir successfully caught up with her, unlike ZZ, who was 4th, with Frostbite ahead. Ought to say, the gap between Densmith and DeCuir was noticeable - about 5 seconds and increasing.
At the lap 41, Densmith hit the wall and made the second pit at the next lap. Where she got the second ticket, but at least quickly recovered at the track. DeCuir was the hext one who pitted, but got back 2nd. Then were others, but the gaps between them were big enough not to make it fatal for any of them.
3rd pitstop - Densmith and DeCuir have switched places again.
And the 4th, where Densmith got her third ticket, what meant the race was over for her. DeCuir was leading regardless, the second position was obtained by Frostbite, and the 3rd was taken by ZZ.
Then Frostbite was pitted, again... that was a long stop, long enough to drop onto the 4th place, right behind Clawtooth. When Clawtooth's at the 3nd place, that means he'll take the 2nd, what he did. And then... the finish!

If there were no parking tickets, I bet Densmith would win the race - but what's done is done. Better luck and more attention at the pits next time, and I bet DeCuir has got a very competitive opponent.
Thanks for the race, guys, and congratulations winners :)

R.I.R. Offroad Race @ Off Road Mayhem

R.I.R. Racing League website
Off Road Mayhem in-world

(race of 7/12/12)

It wasn't the first time Eagle Clawtooth and Badguy Boozehound start the race a lap down. And, if you remember previous reports about the offroad races, usually it turned out to be "how many laps they'll need this time to get to the top" - because we all know they'll get to the top anyway.
Today happened something I coldn't suspect at all - Clawtooth finished first, it was predictable, but Boozehound didn't even make it to the Top 3! I can assume the traffic had some influence on that. Because how may drivers do we usually have there? 6? 7? Today there were 10 drivers. Including a few newcomers.
They messed up a little at the starting point (the grid was formed randomly). And when the race began, a couple of them failed the 1st lap, finishing it 3 or 4 laps down for different reasons - falling off while jumping or getting stuck.
But ღ Rαelyɴɴ  ღ (Raelynn Sapphire), despite the RIR veterans who expectedly made it to the first places at the very start, was doing very good in a competition with Shishi90 for the 5th place - at least until Boozehound and Clawtooth started catching up.
At the 1st places, there were no battle for the 1st place - ZZ took it at the start (even though her grid position was the last one), when she promptly got through the pack, Clifford Market was going next to her (2nd) with Saphyre Cyberstar catching up with him now and then. Clawtooth and Boozehound joined them pretty quickly, doing better laps (50-53 seconds against 58 and higher), but ZZ, Cyberstar and Market weren't going to give up. When Clawtooth began getting close, ZZ and Market were very close to each other, but the battle for the 1st place has been won by Eagle - nevertheless, ZZ and Market remained 2nd and 3rd staying close to Eagle. Meanwhile, Badguy got lapped and drooped from the 4th place to the 5th (for the reason I've missed, but there was 119 seconds lap - no words needed I believe).
So, ZZ and Market concentrated on the battle for the 2nd place and dropped far behind Clawtooth (to be exact - they have been lapped), that battle was won by Market, so ZZ finished third, with a very small gap between her and Market though.
Well, most of what I've seen was expected. Market showed the great improvement of his position in the race - from going/finishing last or last but one, yesterday he made it to the 2nd place competing with ZZ - that's right, with ZZ! What about newcomers - well, everything comes with practice, so far Raelynn wins the newcomers challenge. Hope they don't give it up, and Market would be a great example for each new off road racer!
