Racers Island Raceway blog
No matter if you watch the racer first time or you've seen him racing somewhere else before - you've got a clue about his skills at the very first view.
Today it was a 8th race of the Stock Car Series at Racers Island, and several racers have distinguished themselves at the practice. Among them was Valo Emsbury, who set the practice record and showed the same impressie result on qualifying, I've never seen him before - pretty good driver! Miller Tomcat and Mystic Upshaw (Audion), who apparently were too careful on turns. Eddie Mathieson, who surprisingly got under
23 seconds on the last qualifying lap. Not to mention Miku Hatsune (Doll Kabuki) and Yuriko Nishi - girls were going close to each other through the whole race: they have qualified together (with a 0.006 sec (!!!) difference in time), they technically were in challenge only with each other through the race and they have finished with another tiny difference - 0.468 sec.
3 races: Race A, Race B and Race C. The scheme is quite simple: depending on qualifying results, 3 groups of 4 people are formed (12 racers in total). The group with the longest laps time races first - it's the Race C, and the winner moves to the next group. Participants of the Race B are the second group and the one who have finished 1st from the third group - this race is for 2 first places who become able to race with the first group, with the best qualifying laps results, in the Race A.
So, Race C came first with 4 participants:
P 9*. miller Tomcat, 25.117, -2.556 #2
P 10*. Mystic Upshaw (Mystic Audion), 25.675, -3.113 #54
P 11*. 2cul4scul, 27.059, -4.497 #4
P 12*. Harleybeth28 Amoufhaz, 30.854, -8.292 #2 1/2
- and was pretty straight, except for Tomcat and Mystic Upshaw, who were into a tough fight for the 1st place, taking lead from each other and then catching up with each other - at least that's how it was before I accidentaly teleported myself out of the track, and then got a great help from Yuriko Nishi , who teleported me back and handed me a notecard with final results of the race - thank you very much Yuriko, was a great help!
So, the racers have finished exactly in the same order as they have been lined up - and Tomcat have moved up, to continue the challenge.
Race B was a bit more interesting, with stronger opponents, who were:
P 5*. Andrea Von Brokenhymen (Scottie Easterman), 23.192 #75
P 6*. Cole Bishop (loadcoil), 23.854, -1.292 #3
P 7*. Nella Boccara, 24.229, -1.667 #427
P 8*. Kent Audion (Upshaw34), 24.689, -2.127 #34
Race C P 1. miller Tomcat #2
At first there was the fight between Von Brokenhymen and Kent Audion for the 1st place. Then - between Kent Audion and Cole Bishop for the 2nd, almost till the end of the race. Cole Bishop took the lead and successfully finished 2nd.
And finally, Race A, the race of the bestest:
Pole Position*. Valo Emsbury 22.561 #11
P 2*. Eddie (Eddie Mathieson), 22.944, -0.382 #00
P 3*. Yuriko Nishi, 23.006, -0.445 #69
P 4*. Miku Hatsune (Doll Kabuki), 23.012, -0.450 #121
Race B P 1. Andrea Von Brokenhymen (Scottie Easterman) #75
Race B P 2. Cole Bishop (loadcoil) #3
At first, it was a very close fight for all the racers... except for Bishop, who started almost half a lap down. Then racers have paired - Miku Hatsune and Yuriko Nishi gained the lead and got into extremely close competition with each other; Von Brokenhymen lost a few seconds and Bishop caught up with him; Eddie and Valo Emsbury started the fight for the 3rd place. In the middle of the race, Eddie started hitting walls too much and Emsbury pulled ahead,
but 4 seconds difference between him and Miku Hatsune with Nishi wasn't enough to catch up. Meanwhile, it turned out to be totally unclear who's going to finish first - Miku Hatsune was going ahead, but the gap between her and Nishi was less than a second: they were literally going neck to neck.
It won't be an overstatement to say that was a really exciting race, full of interesting moments. Some pictures will tell you about it, so I'm moving to them, and as always, you can watch racers points and stats in the official Racers Island Pro-Stock blog.
