TXT Racing Series Summer 2012 - 9th race!

(race of 8/4/12)

9th race out of 10... Yes, time is flying. Summer gets closer to the end, and so does our first series.
And today one of the newest tracks at 2RAW, Track 15, was the one that welcomed our very well-known racers, who's already established themselves at 2RAW and just keep on bringing the everlasting spirit of competition here.
When I got at the track 15, there weren't too many people yet, only Cameron Geordie was practicing and Grosmanteau DeCuir was taught by the wise wall (he claimed so, though me and Millennium Sands couldn't catch a single vibe from it). Also we even had 2 catwomen (Pomponia LeMort - another racer and tudy Araw - 2RAW builder).
The sim was running pretty smooth, everything was ready for the last but one race.
Millennium Sands decided that once her win is guaranteed, it's time to rest on her laurels - why straining herself? Other racers were showing a more competitive spirit, proving that points are nothing for the one who was just born to compete. We even had Biggs Braham dropped by, but he didn't practice here enough, so he decided not to cause extra damage. Well, you're always welcome back at 2RAW, Biggs!
The brand-new track has revealed some of the talents as soon as the qualifying began. Or was it more practice that Sharon Densmith, who always had the 3nd position on the grid, got onto the 2nd one yesterday? In general, all the racers are showing an impressive improvement through the series - yesterday the gap between the pole position (that obviously was taken by Grosmanteau DeCuir) and the last, 7th place was 5.681 - pretty good for a road course, isn't it?
I had a talk with DeCuir a couple of days before the race, and he said that even the pole can mess it up due to the special nature of the track - however he managed to pull ahead at the start with Brave Ashbourne a bit behind him, while others got into the fight for the 3rd place - after a while, DeMort and Geordie were left behind (Geordie had hard times at the track in general, seems like due to the traffic), the battle continued between Densmith, Vervain and Clawtooth, and I'd like to move to them for a while.
Densmith quickly expanded her lead, and Clawtooth was going on 4th - but at the 4th lap Clawtooth happened to hit the wall too badly and dropped at the 6th place, behind LeMort. Vervain obtained 4th position and it was guaranteed that he remain there - the gap between him and LeMort with Clawtooth was big enough.
However, those who follows R.I.R. race events, shouldn't be surprised if I tell that Clawtooth quickly started catching up with Vervain, because obviously his driving skill is higher than LeMort's, so it wasn't a problem for him to overpass her. But Vervain was showing some really good driving skills that were helping him doing fast laps and not letting Clawtooth get closer.
Meanwhile, at the first places... While Sharon was going 3rd pretty stable (all the competition was behind her), Ashbourne seemed to be very intended to overtake DeCuir's lead - and his yesterday's performance, I should say, was quite at the same level with DeCuir's. Even more - in the middle of the race DeCuir turned to late and... stuck at the wall. I won't lie, I held my breath watching Ashbourne getting closer to him, he almost overpassed him, but DeCuir arleady was free... just to hit another wall at the next turn. Ashbourne took the lead. Not for long though - the gap wasn't big enough to hold DeCuir on the 2nd position too long.
During the second half, lapped racers (4 of them were lapped) diffused all over the track being just a traffic for others. Nevertheless, they kept on competing with those racers who were passing them. Vervain lost his 4th position at the 16th lap to Clawtooth, LeMort and Geordie already were a few laps down towards others. So, the second half of the race was pretty straight.
Personally, I'm happy to see that racers of 2RAW - even the beginners, no, especially beginners - are really eager to be the best not just at 2RAW, where winning is pretty easy even for below average racers, but maybe even go further - I bet those competitors have a really bright future ahead, of course if they don't give up racing. I absolutely hope they won't.
Thank you very much everyone, and 2RAW is waiting for you next week - it will be Track 8!
